This list covers seven home appliance categories on Amazon.in: split ACs, refrigerators, washing machines, microwave ovens, water purifiers, air fryers and robot vacuums. For each one we took the top two actual products on the category’s Best Sellers page, skipping accessories, filter cartridges and spare parts, and then read each product page. Everything here was checked on 3 October 2026. Rankings change daily, so the order you see on Amazon may already differ.

Prices are given as bands, not exact figures, because they move. Where a listing contradicts itself, we say so.

Which one to pick: The Lloyd lists a lower annual energy consumption (831.01 kWh against 864.39 kWh), a slightly larger room rating and a full warranty breakdown. The Hitachi adds a display and a stated air throw. The two list their efficiency figures under different names (SEER and ISEER), so compare the annual kWh numbers instead.

Which one to pick: The LG has the inverter compressor, the lower listed annual energy use (131 kWh against 136 kWh) and home inverter support. The Haier gives you 5 L more net capacity and fast ice making. Pick on whether the inverter compressor or the extra space matters more to you.

Washing machines

These two differ in type and size, so they suit different homes. The Whirlpool is a front loader and the LG is a top loader.

Which one to pick: The Whirlpool has the larger drum, the higher listed spin speed, more programs and a heater, and it sits one price band higher. The LG costs less and is a top loader, but its listing has the inconsistencies noted above.

Microwave ovens

Both of the top two are solo microwaves, which means they reheat and cook but do not grill or bake. They share a price band.

Which one to pick: The IFB is larger, has a higher wattage, a keypad and a stated menu count, and its warranty terms are fuller. The Panasonic is smaller and uses dials. If you want to grill or bake, neither will do it, so look at convection models instead.

Water purifiers

The two top sellers are both wall-mount or countertop RO purifiers in the same price band, and they differ in storage, TDS limit and after-sales terms.

Air fryers

Which one to pick: The Philips is larger and more powerful, has preset menus, a non-stick coating and dishwasher safe parts. The KENT has simple knobs and a 1 year warranty with a stated term. If cleaning effort matters, the Philips listing is the clearer fit.

Robot vacuums

Both are self-emptying vacuum and mop combinations in the same price band. They differ most in what the listings tell you.

Which one to pick: The ECOVACS lists its battery, runtime, coverage, mapping type and warranty. The dreame lists a higher suction figure and a larger dust bag but leaves out battery, navigation and warranty details. Suction numbers from different brands are hard to compare directly, so lean on the details each listing actually gives.

What to check before you buy

Split ACs: Look at the star rating and the annual energy consumption figure together. More stars on the BEE label means lower electricity use for the same size of AC. An inverter compressor varies its speed to hold the temperature, where a fixed-speed one switches fully on and off. Match the tonnage to your room size, and confirm the warranty term for the compressor and the PCB.

Refrigerators: Compare net capacity, the freezer size and the annual kWh figure. Direct cool models need manual defrosting. Check whether the compressor is inverter or fixed speed, since the title does not always say.

Washing machines: Front loaders generally use less water and are gentler on clothes, while top loaders are usually quicker to load and let you add items mid-cycle. Check drum capacity against your household’s laundry, and read the spin speed and any drying claim carefully when the listing contradicts itself.

Microwave ovens: A solo microwave reheats and cooks. If you want to grill or bake, you need a grill or convection model. Check capacity, the keypad or dial style and the magnetron warranty.

Water purifiers: Find your water’s TDS level first, then check the purifier’s maximum supported TDS. RO is used where water is high in dissolved solids, as in many borewell and tanker supplies. Check how often the filters change, what installation and service cost, and how long the warranty runs.

Air fryers: Check capacity against your household size, the controls, whether the basket is non-stick and whether it is dishwasher safe.

Robot vacuums: Check the mapping or navigation type, app support, the size of the dust bag or bin, the battery and runtime, the seller and the warranty. Where a listing leaves those out, ask before you buy.
